Things 9, 10 11

OK, so I set up a feed reader and have added some RSS subscriptions as well as subscribed to a couple of blogs.
The Tame the Web blog is especially interesting and relevant to our '23 things' exercise as it explores the relationships between libraries, technology and people and the intersection between all three. Very interesting!
Also relevant for the more technologically challenged, as I am, is Mary Ellens Bates info tips which gives updates on the best way to use search tools available in order to find exactly what you are looking for on the WWW.

Facebook and Myspace (Thing 12)

I am a big fan of facebook! I was very reluctant to get onto to it as it just seemed to me to be a big time waster but since a friend convinced me to get onto facebook I have managed to get back in contact old schoolfriends, former work collegues and friends from my time living overseas.
I'm a member of a few 'groups' that have been set up on facebook to keep specific groups of people in contact with each other. There is a reunion coming up for ex-employees of a company I worked with for many years but which is no longer in operation. The facebook groups forum is a fantastic way of informing many people about an upcoming event. I'm really looking forward to catching up with everyone!
There are many different applications on facebook. I like the word games and love being able to play 'scrabulous' (scrabble) with friends living in Hong Kong, India the UK and remote Australia. As I am fascinated with all things Spanish I love this application, take a look!

Pet Photo on the VU Wiki (Thing 19)

I successfully posted to the VU Wiki (after a few initial sizing issues!), a photo of one of our pets, Sarah the Stick insect. She and her sister are lovely and my middle son loves them to bits. We did have 2 boys stick insects but they recently passed away. The girls have laid LOADS of eggs during the time that we have had them so if they hatch I will be sending a call out for homes for them. Anyone interested?

Seville is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful places on earth. I have a fascination for all things Spanish, the culture, language, music and food!

Technophobia...

OK, now it is set up, ready to go...I just need to work out how to use it! Get ready to learn about my fave 'things'. Hmmm...might need to take it slow for now.
